Rock is Hard, Hard is Rock

A while back Cassie and Bill made a top ten list of Rock songs.  Being a PIA, I suggested several more which I just knew had to be added to their list!  Cassie, in her wisdom, suggested that I make a list of my own!

Ugh!  I have been toiling over this list for weeks now.  Himself and I would be eating a meal out and I would grab a receipt from my purse to write down a few more songs.  Lists everywhere!  And now I can’t find a one of them.

Defining what is rock is different for everyone, it seems.  When I say rock, I do not mean "rock & roll " (Stones, Beach Boys) or country rock (Allmans) or pop (Elton John – although Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding in My Hand merits an honorable mention and would be at the top of the pop list).

On my list is Heart, Aerosmith, Pat Benatar, Led Zeppelin and others.  Get the picture?  You can pretty much tell someone’s age, I think, by what they consider to be a top rock song.

Hopefully, I will be able to start writing my list again this weekend.  In a notebook so that it will not get lost.

What’s up for the weekend people?   Hopefully, I will be able to chill tomorrow.  TGIF!  g

  1. LOL You are too funny. Sounds like me though.. when something hits you, you gotta write it down quick before you forget.. then you lose it anyway. ROFL  Good luck with your list! It’s getting harder to tell one’s age because my son loves AC/DC and Led Zeppelin and he’s 15, and some people in their 40’s and 50’s love them too.

Oh, the doctor thing was nothing serious. I had a mole on my back that was acting up so they decided to cut it out. I had another one on my back that I hated so they just cut them both off today. And I don’t mean just sliced them off.. I mean dug two big craters in my back then stitched them up. LOL It wasn’t too bad but I’m in serious pain now.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Now, I would be MOST curious to see what’s on the top of your top 10 rock songs! hahah. that’d be interesting! go find your list! haha..or do a new one. 🙂
So I’ve gone missing from your friend’s list? I don’t think so, coz you’re on mine. Anyway, if you really wanna invite anyone, just click add when you’re in edit space mode. click on window life spaces,  type in the name, and the add. Not the full add, just the word which comes after http://
ok dear AG, gotta go. It’s been SUCH a LONNNGGGGGGGGG day. I will go blog about it now. Take care!
    **hugs**

  3. I am sorry you lost your mini lists.  My mum always writes stuff on pieces of paper and loses them too, so I had to smile when I read this entry.  I think the notebook will work better:)
I want to go to the Texas State Fair this weekend.  I think the last day is Sunday and I have never been even after over 3 years in Texas.  Shame on me!  I hope I am able to drag myself away from football and baseball and take a drive out there.  Have a fantastic weekend!

  7. Hello my sweet mom,

I am back in the blog land and I will be mailing you too. THanks for your prayers and hey thanks for that small chat days back. But unfortunately I had to be admitted in hospital the next day itself. So, I couldn’t blog or mail you.

Well, this illness got me more free time, so I had good time with my laptop and pc for past 2 days since getting discharged. Today is my first day out and so the first thing I did is, post my blogs which I’ve kept typed (gosh… I hate out Internet provider who rejected my application twice, next time I am trying through someone inside).

I still have that sickness feeling with slightly overweight head and you know, all those hospital feelings.

    Have a great day mom,
    Prayers & Hugs,
    Your Son.

  9. I have a very wide range of music.  I like Blues, Rock, Metal, Classical, some country, soundtracks, and cultural.  But I will list some of my favorite groups.  Not necessarily in order ~smiles~:

    1)      Black Sabbath, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Deep Purple
    2)      Uriah Heep (now that’s giving away age lol)
    3)      Judas Priest
    4)      Iron Maiden
    5)      Soulfly
    6)      Uriah Heep
    7)      System of A Down
    8)      Rainbow
    9)      Creedence Clearwater Revival
    10)  Marilyn Manson

That is just a small list ~smiles~.  I use to be a lead singer in a metal band that almost made it back in the 80’s.  Some of the guys in my bands did make it.  I chose the narrow path over the wide.

I remember the day the devil came too me.  I had been trying to raise him for years to make me a heavy metal star.  Then when he did come I changed my mind and decided my soul was worth more than pathetic sins like vanity and materialistic fame.  It was at this time that God promised me a spot in Heaven, short of Blasphemy and Murder ~smiles~.  The Devil took me to the “Red Gates of Babylon” and I spoke in tongues so everyone understood me.  Once I turned down the Devil, which was very hard he had me paralyzed with fear and illusions, God whisked me up to the most beautiful place I had ever seen.  A golden fountain in the middle of this park looking place, only it was perfect there were no hunger, no pain, no garbage and no desire/wants.  Silver water spewed from this gold fountain and a gypsy woman ran her fingers through my hair to calm me down.  This is when God verily decreed that I would have my spot in Heaven for turning down the Devil.  I did what many who call him could not, and many of them people were rock stars ~smiles~.

Anyways, enough religious psychobabble.  I hope you and yours are having a wonderful day hun J

    Love,
    Adam

  10. Ciao G.
I have to agree with you, I like the small list that you started in your blog, those bands will always be the best.
I also was tagged to make a list about 50 things that make me happy….I usually do not do things like that, but because I was tagged by a special lady, I thought that I would give it a try, in the end it was a lot of fun.
Hope that you have a Blessed weekend
    Hugs & Kisses
    Love

  11. Hello Gail,

My Bro, Allen, extends his thanks for making his birthday memorable. He has never gotten so many birthday wishes before. Of course he says I’m crazy for trying such a stunt;) It’s not the first time I’ve done something wild.

Thank you for helping me give him a most memorable birthday. He will never forget this one unless he develops alzheimers (his words).

A lot of my favorite groups and solo artists are on my blog site under my music list. I couldn’t think of them all when I made it out. I do have both secular & non-secular music listed.

As for fifty things about me, I’ll plead the 5th Amendment on that one.

    Peace & Blessings.
