I Laugh Every Day

To give you an idea of my weekday schedule:  My daughter wakes me up shortly before 6:45 when she has to leave for work.  She doesn’t return until, on a good day, 5:30.  So it is darling Isabella and me for approximately ten plus hours.  Blessedly, Himself’s profession (real estate) allows his hours to be flexible and he is a big help.
We may go to the Cafe for breakfast or to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.  We may stay home all day.  Whatever we do, Bells keeps busy.
Isabella is a very active little girl.  She walks up and down the living room/dining room all day long looking for things to get into.  Just when I think I have everything out of her reach she still finds a way.  She now knows to stand on a pillow or a little chair to get what she wants.
This morning I was using the pc which is next to a window in the living room.  Bells was feeling needy and wanted to be on my lap.  Well, she wanted to look out the window and look at the television.  Window to the right.  TV to the left.  What proceeded was a baby dance wiggle to be able to do both at the same time.  She climbed up my stomach to my chest and back and, finally, found a position that allowed her to do as she wished.
With this little one trying to give up her afternoon nap, I fall exhausted into my bed every weeknight.  Still, every day I laugh.  I laugh at all of her antics.  I laugh at her laughing.  I laugh at her delight in new things or at her crush on one of the Backyardigans.  Isabella has filled a hole in our lives and given us joy.
I am so thankful for this healthy, active child.  God knew just what this family needed.  Isabella.
Our home is warm, our bellies are full and we have clothing on our backs.  What else do we need?  We want for nothing.  We are blessed.  Thanks be to Him.  gail

  1. Hey Gail!  That was very sweet. It’s amazing how a little one could add so much joy to our lives.  My nephew did that for our family too.  God just works in mysterious ways………….he just knows what we need right when we need it.  Blessings, my friend.

  2. I think God hands out grandkids at just the right time. It’s around the grandmother’s time of menopause – and I think He plans them to aleviate some of the symptoms.
Between the girls leaving home for college and my going into (surgically induced) menopause, I really should have borrowed someone’s baby to help me laugh.
I understand your joy for Isabella. Grace does it for me everyday. I wish Baby Jack lived closer, I know what I’m missing with him. But hopefully, he will be living close by in a few years.
Play with her now – you can clean the house later, right?
p.s. my knee seems to be healing, just a lot differently than I thought it would.

  3. What a beautiful baby, Isabella is.  I love that picture.  Hope you have a great weekend!  Still waiting on some real snow here.  Maybe just maybe this weekend…..

  5. you are blessed indeed Gail.
in answer to your question.. yes… we did encounter some of the  h.. ch
but mainly we were dealing with the 3 self ch
you are right about how despite persecutions, the ch in China is flourishing
reminds me of the ch during Acts
sometimes we do need that fire, to keep the ch alive and relying totally on God! 😀

  6. She is so cute!  Little girls as you know are much more mature and active than little boys.  Little boys you can usually sit down in front a TV and they are happy, not little girls!  There middle name is curiosity!
I get up at 5am (not by choice) Mariah doesn’t usually wake up till around 9am, so I get the dishes and laundry done.  I picke up the house a bit, so I am done by the time she wakes up, so she can start making a mess anew ~grins~.
I love her nickname "Bells".  It makes sense and is very cute!

  7. Fortunately since it is just a short hop, the worst I would have to pay would be about $130 dollars.  But being that we are military, it drops down to $64 (isn’t that nice?).  So I can literally walk up to the counter and walk on the plane.  It’s jsut a quick 35 minute flight over to Seattle from here, about 300 miles.  But faster than driving and I think I would be dangerous behind the wheel, especially after my display yesterday, lol.

  8. her smile is just so contagious…
:o) smiles easy to give away they are free… :o) very contagious… :o) so pass one to anyone … :o) to people that you love… :o) and even to those you don’t… :o) in no time the whole world will be smiling :o)

  9. That’s one way.  With 2 weeks notice I can usually pull it off for less than $90 round trip.  Not too bad.
I am feeling better, not 100% yet but about 95% or so.  I am waiting for Hannah to call me after her Dr. appt this morning and tell me if there are any changes.  If she is making any progress at all I have decided to just head over and wait it out over there.  This is too stressful!!

  10. Somehow, I can’t imagine you without a smile on your face.  The love you have for your children always gives me pause to smile.  I dearly love to read of the joys children bring to loving households.  The Lord chose to take my only child, a daughter just shy of 3 months old, to be with Him in Paradise.  Reading of your Bells fills a void in my life.  God bless you my sister and friend.  Jesus knew exactly what you where meant to be.  By the way, don’t feel pity for me because of my lose of a child.  She was Heaven’s gain.

p.s.  She would have been 33 this past October.  The perfect age!

  11. ??did i mention that i had a massage today??
:o) smiles easy to give away they are free… :o) very contagious… :o) so pass one to anyone … :o) to people that you love… :o) and even to those you don’t… :o) in no time the whole world will be smiling :o)

  12. What teams are playing in the Super Bowl?  Yep, I’m really that out of touch.  If I don’t find out before Sunday night, I’ll discover which teams are playing at our church’s Super Bowl Party.  We don’t have cable or dish, only one TV station we pick up rabbit ear antenna.  I don’t watch it very often.  Our TV is used more as a monitor for our DVD player.
None of our brood are married yet and honestly I haven’t even had thoughts about grandkids until just recently.  I’m not old enough to have grandkids yet.  I’m still much too young for grandkids; however, when I read your blog, it does make me look forward to the day I’ll be mature and we’ll have grandkids knocking around the house.
You got a favorite team you want me to pray for?

  13. Isn’t it amazing how much love, joy, and awe we have in our little ones?  They paint the world in a who new array of brilliant hues that turn the canvas of life vibrant and alive.
    Blessings to you this weekend!

  14. Hey Gail, children are a blessing from the Lord…:) I’m glad to know you are happy and that Isabelle brings smiles to your face. 🙂
    blessings to you…
    gotta go. take good care!

  15. If a merry heart doeth good like a medicine, Bell’s must be helping you to stay healthy.  (The exercise of chasing an active child doesn’t hurt either!)
Just wondering, do you call her Bell or Bells in "real life"?

  16. My neices and nephews were over this weekend.  So much fun.  I don’t know what it’s like to be a grandparent but I’m guessing being an auntie compares.  They just light up my life.  Words could never express what they mean to me. I’m blessed too to have them so close.  Right in the same town.
You’re an amazing grandparent gail and blessed is the child who gets to claim you with that title.
We were given 4 boys by birth but had any of them been a girl the name was always Isabella.  I still call my adopted daughters Bella once in a while because of their extreme beauty, inner and outer. I can see that your Isabella is just as gorgeous as can be as well.
    Blessings Gail
    GO COLTS!!

  17. I’m always encouraged visiting your site. I tend to get ‘ahead of myself’ at times! (lol)  You’re blessed, and yes, give him thanks & praise for everything.

  18. Ciao G,
Sorry for not being around as much as I would love to be, but I had taken the flu and been a little under the weather lately.
I went to see the Dr. here, and he gave me tooooooooooo much medication to take, along with lots of hot liquids and rest, rest, rest as a perscription. ha ha, you have to know me, I hate medication….and one is one too many, ha ha ha, but this time he gave me 4. I have to take one at a certain time, one at another time, ohh, I have to watch the clock in my sleep I think, ha ha ha. I took the flu, and it is a bad one, but I told the Dr when I went to see him that I just turned 40 in Jan, and I feel like I am about to expire. Ha Ha Ha, he asured me that I was not, ha ha. but that I will be fine. I am doing ok so far, but still not much of a lover of medication…grrr.
Bella is such a sweetheart here, and I am sure that she keeps Grandma busy, ah ha ha, but truly, they are all such a blessing from teh Lord…and yes, He sure does know what we need.
May God Bless You G, and all your family as well.
    Take Care.

  19. Hi Gail,
How are you this morning? I pray everything is wonderful for you and yours.
I can hardly believe how much "Bell’s" has grown since I last seen a pic of her and so beautiful too. You are a lucky Grandmother.
Thank you for all the Prayers and the e-mails, they mean a lot to me.
    May God bless you Sister.
