  1. So funny, I don’t have a tan for the same reason.  I used to love the tanning bed, I think as I get older I realize my own mortality and don’t want to take a chance like skin cancer.  That doesn’t sound fun at all!

I hope that you are bombarded with joy today!

    Hello Gail,

I enjoyed this so much that I then went on to read your 101 list. It would be so much fun commenting on so many of them, but this comment venue just doesn’t seem to allow for that .. lol. One especially hitting home for me was that your maternal grandmother was your best friend. How nice! I had a very, very special relationship with my maternal "Grannie" as well and I’m glad your mention of her brought so many thoughts of her to me just now. I sympathize with you on the losing of a friend here on spaces for being honest. In my short 12 months here on Spaces, I too, have lost friendships, yet I understand that my writings are controversial and accept what can result from that, though it does sadden me to lose someone I consider a friend. And I love your words of "dark chocolate is a food group" .. lol. At least you are eating the right color chocolate for your heart’s sake. One of my dearest decades-old friends wrote me just this morning to congratulate me on a lifestyle eating change I have undertaken. In her message she says she eats "way too much chocolate", and your mention of the variety "dark" motivates me to respond and make mention of Dark Chocolate and the Healthy Heart in my return email to her later this morning. Hey, good for you that you don’t shave your legs every day. That’s kinda sexy, ya know .. lol.

  4. I do love trivia Gail, but I’m terrible at remembering all those useless facts.  I enjoyed your little getting to know you quiz.  It’s a great idea to post. I just returned one to a friend who emailed it – should’ve copied and pasted it on my blog. Maybe next time.

  5. Haha, wow.. that was very informative. I’ve never seen that one before. Anyway, I just stopped by to say hello and to tell you that I’ve added you to my friends list. I’m going more private on my space for a while because I’m tired of being spied upon by my "stalker"… ugh!! So hope you have a wonderful week as well. Take care. -S-

  6. Hi:  Thanks for stopping by and commenting to me.  In answer to your question, we didn’t see the signs of depression before the marriage.  We’re in a terrible quandry now because 1) we don’t understand depression in the least, 2) we’re wondering if he really has depression at all, or maybe is  just playing some kind of "now my wife can just support me for the rest of my life because I don’t want to work" game, and 3) how do we help our daughter decide how to best handle this.  We have a lot ahead of us to figure out.  Any advice you give will be much appreciated.  Oh, he is on meds (which doctors prescribe readily now), but is not wanting to go in for counseling.  BTW, I love your 40 things list.  I might use it on my own blog soon.

I’d do these memes, but I think I already share a little too much about myself some days. For some people, that’s not "endearing" so much as it’s "more than I wanted to know!"

Hope your household is staying healthy and happy. (I just brought #3 home from play practice. He threw up there. Blech.)

  13. That was a lovely read, Gail.  I have been to all four countries that you have been to.  I lived in Canada for 6 years, I have been to Bermuda twice, England three times and I went to California for the first time last summer.  I love traveling!  Wow, I can’t believe you have lived in the same state all your life…………I always think that if I was born in the USA, I would move around when I got tired of one place.  Maybe I am a gypsy (hahaha)!  Have a blessed week.

  14. I did this one not long ago. Fun. Hey, you can’t list chocolate twice! Unless you are more specific, I mean. Like.. dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate pie, chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, etc. etc. lol

  15. I just saw Nooner’s comment. He thinks hairy legs are sexy? He is one strange bird. LOL

I do shave everyday. Not just my legs but everything (even my arms). I have a thing about being smooth. I can’t stand stubble or hair on my body. LOL Except on my head of course. 😛

  16. I do want to visit some more places.  In fact, every other place!  I love to travel, it’s such fun to discover new cultures.  Have fun with little Bell today!

    Take care,
    Amy

  17. #3 had me ROFL, too! It takes me longer to go through the girls rooms to find a razor than it does to shave my legs . . . I think I have one of every color ever made!

    Fun list, g. -cindy

  18. Yes, it is really annoying to have a "stalker"…and yesterday I was just really tired of being watched all the time, all those "anonymous" visitors, as if, ugh… but I was thinking about it and why should I go private… just cause some dork hasn’t got anything better to do that to spy on me all the time? Why should I hide and let them win? So… yeah, maybe I’ll go private sometimes to throw the weenie off.. lol! Anyway, glad you’re on my list. Have a wonderful Tuesday. -S-

we really do have so much in common Gail !!!

I had google  ‘walking pneumonia’ as I had never heard of it …sounds awful though .I do hope and pray that no one else gets it and that your son is soon well again .
I agree with you that children level out with language skills by the time they get to school …my family reckon that any child put in my company would talk early if only  to shut me up …lol..It is fun to see peoples faces when Fergus talks when we are out though 🙂
going to cook the teatime pancakes now …wondering if you celebrate shrove tuesday with pancakes too ????

    peace and joy be yours

  20. Hello Gail,

I agree about the Mustang – a 1966 not a 2006 unless the 2006 had the Rousch Stage III package (Jack Rousch Racing – NASCAR Nextel Cup) on it or it was a Mach I. The 1966 would have to have a Cleveland engine in it not a Windsor. OOOPS! Too technical – sorry.

Thank you for your comment on my "February 12,1973" post. It was my pleasure to serve and I enjoyed doing something worthwhile for the United States and the people here.

  21. answers to your questions on mealtimes :-
here in East Yorkshire ‘dinnertime’ is around midday ,’teatime’ is anytime from 4pm onwards usually around 5 30 pm for us and on days when ‘ tea’ is not a cooked  meal a light supper follows at around 8 to 9 pm .Of course our main meal is when Jeff gets home from work during the week ,and often at midday on weekends & holidays !
you are right in thinking that the pancakes we have are quite thin & rolled around the filling ..I also like them with icecream inside ..well I must admit that like them with or without  anything inside 🙂
I do hope and pray  that you and Isabella manage to miss out on the illnesses Gail …know what you mean about wanting to take their pain for them ,I feel the same when ‘ours’ are ill .A good reminder of what Jesus does for us !!!!!

    love and blessings

  22. HI Gail, popping over from Sandra’s site.  I love the photo’s- very sweet, especially the "Hillarious" I can relate to the wonder of seeing that little face full of joy and imagine that you will have it to look at for many years to come, as that little person deveops their own sense of humour and self.  Brillant!

  23. Hi Gail – it’s great to see you visit.  I still hear from Hearts by email — I miss her site very much.  I’ll do the tag thing for you though.  I think they are fun and a great way to get to know others.
By the way — it was funny to see your comment about seeing the last of the snow.  It had just started snowing hard here again while I was reading your comment.  I don’t know where we will put this snow.  Need heat!  Tropics sound good to me.
Take care Gail and please visit again.

    Peace & Blessings.

  26. Hi Gail —
I just noticed that we like alot of the same Authors.  I have decided to read all of John Sanfords "Prey" books over again in order.  I am rummaging through my many boxes of books looking for them all.  I know I have them.
I like books with the same character in each book.  James Patterson’s "Alex Delaware" is one of my favorite characters.  Have you read "Cross" yet?
I also need to reread J.D. Robb’s "In Death" series over.  I have read them all, but again would love to reread them all in order.  I hate having to wait for a new one to come out as I read so much I have to go back and refresh myself with the last book.  I didn’t think I would like her series so it took me awhile to pick it up.  I loved it.  Although it takes place in the future, (which turned me off at first) you get so caught up in the story you don’t notice.  But when I did, all I could think was "yes, that’s believable".
Wow — look at me.  Can you tell books are my favorite subject?
I only stopped by to say hello and to tell you to have a nice weekend.  Can I ramble on or what?
    Take care!
    Deb

  27.
