“Happy Thoughts”

A dear friend has lovingly chastised me about recycling the last entry.  I did it in response to some things that occurred over the weekend.  Sometimes I guess I write an allegory thinking that I am  not being negative but being creative.  My friend saw right through me and I would like to give equal time to "happy thoughts" about Himself.

Himself is a hard working man.  He spends many hours working three jobs to provide for his family.  (Two part-time jobs, one of which starts at 4:30 AM four days a week and another that he works most Saturdays.)  His full-time job is mostly computer work he can do at home so he is available to help me watch Isabella when I need him to.

If a man could get an award for loving his family, Himself would earn it.  He has always been willing to drive many miles when one of the kids needed to go somewhere and to provide beyond our means to help them out.  He has attended nearly every sporting event our son was involved in and has even coached a bit.

No parents have ever had a better son.  Himself’s parents are 91 and 81 and, when needed and able to, he takes them into the big city for medical check ups or procedures.  He has taught respect for elders by his own actions.

No matter how much I kvetch, he loves me.  Unconditionally.  Sometimes I just can’t figure that part out.

In closing, although we live in the land of Peaceatanycost, not one of us has to doubt that we are loved.

Blessings, gail

  1. I told Bill I hadn’t heard of BBA either and he thought that was strange. LOL At least I’m not the only one. It’s like an MBA but the bachelor version. It’s a Bachelors in Business Administration. Bill is looking at online schools and there are not many masters programs out there that are 100% online. He found one that is Nazarene and one that is Baptist. He may do one of those. A chaplain is an officer, so when he gets done with all this and puts in a packet to be a chaplain, he will switch to being an officer. They are greatly in need of chaplains right now and he won’t have any problem getting accepted as long as he has everything he needs (masters of divinity, ordination, etc.) I don’t mind the questions! I know we haven’t talked much lately.

  2. Hi Mom,

It was a nice sharing about Himmself. Well, I am sure you agree with me that it’s hard to find such male these days. I wish best with prayers.

Well, I know you will start parenting again on me if I say that I am becoming even more workoholic than before. Well, it’s not that I do have a choice. It’s just that I’ve been promoted to Project Leader and am leading two project teams on a two big projects, I have really lots to do, so I end up working 14-16 hours straight and then some time chatting and then sleep.

Obsolutely no social life for past 6 days and this is just the begining. Anyway, i expected this right from the begining. I am preparing to leave this company soon, but as of now, I’m preparing to make this project become successful and gain real good experience before moving out of this country.

    God Bless You Mom.

  6. Wow, that made me tear up, what a great guy!  It’s funny because sometimes day to day things can get us frustrated with our spouses, but the big picture shows what amazing people they truley are!

Thanks for sharing that with us!

    Amy

  7. Hey Gail, how are you doing?  Sounds like you have a very sweet soulmate……..you are indeed very blessed.  I am not sure that I will ever find my soulmate.  I am so set in my ways, just doing my own thing all the time, that I may not be the sweetest mate.  Who knows?!!  Independence may be a little overrated:)  Hope all is well with your little sweetheart these days.  Hugs.

  8. Hi mom,

Well, we are preparing for our next concert from church which is on March 31st for all church youth in my place.

http://www.resuscitate-band.com/home.html is out band website created by me (I componsate my sadness that I don’t know any instrument to be part of band through these sort of technical stuff which I can contribute) and we are hosting concerts frequently to bring all youth of this country where I live and give them a feel that we christians too ROCK in good way with better purpose (he he he).

Well, I know I have to take enough rest, but the deadlines are tight and so I have to take risks occasionally. Right now I have problem wtih my right eye (not sight problem) and it’s hot red because of heat (lack of sleep, etc etc).

Anyway, I will work it out.

    Have great day mom.
    Love, Prayers & Regards, Son.

  9. Hello Gail,
Sorry you had a bad weekend. Hope things are better now. A person can’t be upbeat all the time, there will be moments of feeling blue and sad. This too shall pass. Your blog about Himself is extremely elegant – one befitting true love between two people.
I’m glad you like the little ditty. I learned that when I was in grade school – OH! so many years ago:) There is more to it but that was all my brother taught me.
I’m glad we’re beyond the snow season, although, further north in the panhandle, they have had snow on Mothers Day. Hopefully it won’t happen this year.
    Peace & Blessings.

  10. Hey G!  Sometimes I do dream of being married, but then that dreams fizzles QUICKLY!  Am I bad (hahahaha)?  Maybe one day I will meet somebody whom I will be able to give up my carefree life for…………I am loving it, though!

  11. I’m glad to hear that you have a good man.  I’ve also got myself a wonderful "Himself".  I can’t imagine my life without his constant, love, support and humor.  I had to smile when you commented that you wonder how he loves you unconditionally.  I wonder that all the time about my guy, as I think I’m such a witch to live with sometimes!  He never complains.  Thanks for sharing and reminding me what a wonderful man I have too.

  12. Hello Gail,
Yes! We’re alive and in better health than some people. We still have our full mental facilities and a loving spouse and children & can’t forget grandchildren. The best things in life are ours. No one can take that away from us.
    Peace, Love, & Blessings.

  13. I don’t know anything about the Christian and Missionary Alliance, but I doubt they have a fully online program. They are rare. He has looked and looked and only found two or three. The only way he’s going to be able to do this is online. We’re here for a while.

  14. i put you on the list…i knew there were a few people i missed…i changed the name too cause it’ more of a where i walk list and whom ever else might want to be on it…now chocolate pecan pie sounds delish…but so does the rasberyy angel food cake…yummy….
:o) smiles are contagious…so pass one to people that you love and those you don’t…and soon everyone will be smiling… :o)

  15. Hi G thanks for checking in on me.   I have a myspace account now that I like better than the msn spaces and of course my son is now 2 and keeps me so busy its just too hard for me to keep up.
I love it that you are still thinking of me tho thats awesome!
    (((HUGS)))

  16. I’m so glad you did this!!!

Sometimes we need friends like your friend to give us the gentle kick in the hiney that we need to appreciate what God has given us.  Darlin’ take it from someone who’s been barren living in a barren land with no sign of water: a good man is hard to find!  And life’s short.  Appreciate him while you still have him around to appreciate!

    Love you!!!
    Carol 🙂

  17. Gail,
It is beautiful in the summer, its barren in the winter. What kind of car should I look for  heheh
    Love Ya

  18.
Mike’s tattoo is a small heart with the letter B inside it. It is in memory of his childhood friend Britany, who died suddenly and unexpectedly from a ruptured aorta during a danceline competition during their jr. year of high school. I don’t have a close-up shot of it but will try and get one for you g.

  19. I really appreciate you continuing to come by to check on me Gail.  I do believe I am completely recovered, but it seems like every time I say that, I get bit in the ass.
I don’t think there has been a new House for a while, but I have my DVR set up to record it automatically when any new ones come on.
Well, I better get going.  I need to run around the block one more time and then get reading on this book.Billy

  20. Isn’t ‘kvetching’ what blogs are all about?
My older sister and BIL are experiencing the after effects of not exercising enough tough love. Their 35 year old son living at home again. They live in NM and Texas has a warrant out for his arrest. He’s not a loser, he’s just never been held accountable for his choices.
The entry I did about ‘Jane’ made me feel like I was critizing her as a person. I felt bad after I posted it, and almost deleted it. She told me that she read it and saw my side. (I had no idea she reads it, she’s so busy these days.) In reality, she’s the best daughter any parent could ask for.  (Well, one of two of the best. I have 2 daughters!) In truth, she’s one of the best people you could ever hope to meet. But she still ticks me off once in a while.
    But…she still ticked me off!

I think most of us have our own ‘Himself’-type person that irks us on occasion. So we blog about them!

    xoxo

  22. hello g ..all I seem to do lately is apologise for not being around spaces 😦
I hadn’t realise just how long it was since I last  got around here though ,maybe I need to learn how to manage my time better .I am hoping that when the weather gets warmer I will want to get out of my bed in the mornings and that way I will gain a few extra hours ..lol ..I suppose I am fortunate in not having to get up early ..your man sounds like a really hard worker and a kind man too :-)you are blessed !
    peace be with you

  23. You know, I sometimes feel like I get too negative on my blog, but then, hey, it’s kind of what it’s here for, to get that out of my system so I can be nicer at home!  I hope others know we aren’t really as bad as we ‘sound’ here!  lol

  24. Ciao G,
Great to see you pop in for a visit.
I am doing fine, thank you….although the time just changed for us here in Italy on Saturday night, but I did not know this…qurks of living in a different country that does not speak your language, ha ha, and found out about the time change late on Sunday night…so needless to say, I was a bit unorganized all day trying to get used to the time and wondering to myself…"What time is it?" ha ha ha, what a strange feeling that is… ha hah a. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I will settle in better with the time. Sounds strange when it is really only an hour…ha hah a. but I am doing great…
Hope that you are having a good week.
    Take Care G…
    God Bless you

  25. Good stuff Mrs. "G"…

Yes, the darkness of this world will always be overcome by light.
That light can be kindness, gentleness, respect, honor, love, etc…
Think about all the little things we can do that can mean so much.
Just like how a lit match can light up a whole dark room.

    Have a wonderful week, Greg

  26. Thanks for sharing and enjoying the journey with me.  I will certainly keep you posted as soon as I hear the news.  I’ve always heard that good things come to those who wait.  We will see.  Have a great week!

  27. Have to ditto that- this is my Chris, too 🙂
"No matter how much I kvetch, he loves me.  Unconditionally.  Sometimes I just can’t figure that part out."

  28. Both entries are good.  It appears you perhaps have a "one thing thou lack" kind of guy.  These cannot be changed by words, only by the power of prayer.  Pray and believe (yeah, I know you’ve been doing this, just keep on, keeping on)

  29. Hello Gail,

Here’s hoping you are having a great week. Clovis, NM got off to a WINDY start. 15 people injured, 5 still in the hospital and 2 in critical condition. Lubbock had a small tornado – no injuries, very little damage, fortunately. Living in TORNADO ALLEY can be so much fun.

    Peace & Blessings.
