Enough Already

"He who is without sin throw the first stone…"  John 8:7
While Hillary has brought back the "vast left-wing consipiracy" notion, the left has been running with its ball of attacks against Christianity.  I just watched Law & Order SVU and, once again, liberal propaganda was in play.  I have always enjoyed this show because of the lead actors but I am going to remove it from my TiVo list.
If any other group was put down in the media the way Christians are there would be a hue and cry against the perpetrator(s).  Let’s take, for example, Gray’s Anatomy.  An actor from the cast was ostracized and attended rehab for making a homophobic remark about one of his cast mates.  I agree that the comment was uncalled for.  Any comment that demeans a person is uncalled for.  Whether it be about their sexual orientation, their religious preferences, their looks or anything else.  It is never appropriate to hurt someone.
There are those in the "Christian" community who are hypocrites.   I am, at times, a hypocrite.  This is not something I am proud of and I don’t claim to be above the law of God or the law of the land.  Those who are in the public eye and who are leaders in the church have to be above reproach.  Billy Graham, for example, has a policy of never staying in the same hotel as the rest of his crusade staff.  In doing this, there can be no false accusations of impropriety made against him.
Other Christian leaders have had their lapses in judgement publicized and their reputations destroyed.  Once again, they were to behave appropriately and they did not.  Their actions caused their downfall and they are responsible before God for their actions.  True repentance will set them right before God and it is up to us to forgive as well.  This doesn’t mean that we are to restore them to their place of leadership.  On the contrary, in humility they are to serve at a lower level.
I know that not everyone who reads this blog is a Christian.  My hope is that my words will show hypocrisy in the media in general as well as specifically as it pertains to Christians.  We can not sit idly by with our heads in the sand and expect bias from any side to just go away.  We must make our voices heard by contacting the sponsors of shows that demean anyone.  The networks count on the revenue produced from their sponsors to  make them the big bucks.  Letter writing and e-mail campaigns have caused sponsors to withdraw their ads from shows that are offensive.
In the same way, we must keep in touch with our elected officials about votes coming up that could change the moral fiber of our country.  It was because good people turned a blind eye that Hitler was able to massacre ten million people in concentration camps.  Let’s not turn a blind eye and become callous to offensive material and immoral voting records.
Thank you for letting me get that out of my system.  I wish you all abundant blessings, gail

  1. I have thought this exact same thing before.  Cold Case has been a favorite of mine for several years but they homosexual propaganda from that show is so blatant in almost every episode that it just got ridiculous.  The media just bombards us with constantly trying to make us see right as wrong and wrong as right.  It is really why I watch very little tv besides the food network and cartoons these days.
    Take care,

  2. Hey G.. Thanks for always checking in on me.. You’re a great friend… Blessings….Those pics are precious of your Grandbaby…

  3. well i am glad that you are feeling better for letting it out…

  4. Hello Gail,
What a beautiful blog. Those who do not voice what they stand for, have doubts about what they truly believe. As Sir Winston Churchill said, "One ought never to turn one’s back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.  –  Sir Winston Churchill  What you are doing is merely meeting the danger head on.It takes a lot of courage to do so.  I have much admiration for people who will speak out on what they believe and not run from it. More people need to take a firm stand and not run from what is considered an uncomfortable situation.
    Peace, Love, & Blessings.

  5. OOPS! I forgot one thing. When transferring data from one computer to another, an A to A USB cable is the easiest way to do it. Most USB cables are A to B. The A part is the big end and by using the A to A it can be plugged into both computers. Sorry, I have probably gotten you totally confused now.

  6. I better not get going on this topic.
But they do need their eyes and ears of understanding opened.
One word sums it up well…Deception.
But, not for those who know the truth.
Have a good weekend you and your loved ones, Greg

    Well put, my friend.
Thanks for popping in. I am, indeed, on a bit of a sabbatical. No real reason, other than Life poking its big, fat, intrusive head into my little part of the world. It’ll settle down soon, I’m sure.
Thanks for the movie recommendation, too. The only thing on my agenda before that was "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," which I’m planning to see with my four sons. The two older ones used to watch the cartoon — and then the original movie — daily, and I thought it would be a nice opportunity to harken back to happier times for our family. We’ll see.
Take care, and enjoy the semi-empty nest. Hope the girls are adjusting well without Mom and Nana. : )

  8. the great thing about america…well, one of them..is FREEDOM OF SPEECH.  Yea for you saying your piece.
I am going to see that movie…and if i ever end up with wiz…one of the songs at our wedding will be Adam Sandler singing I wanna grow old with you.
    happy day, g/. 🙂

  9. wow…been here a lot lately…..as for the buck n doe…could also be called a jack an jill….it’s a party to raise money for the couple that is getting married…normally your maid of honour and best man plan it…but i am helping them out…

:o) smiles are free and contagious…so pass one right now to the people you love and those you don’t…soon everyone will be smiling… :o)

Great post Gail… and I enjoyed Greg’s comment to it as well!!!
A lot needs changing and it all starts by speaking out so you say it sister!!!
I am really glad you like my new space… It is helping me along on my walk with God tremdously!
    Big hugs,

  11. Ramblin’ On touched on a similar subject today- this is the reason I watch very little network tv anymore.
Hope the Girl & Bells are enjoying their own place & you’ve gotten to love the peace 🙂

  12. Gail, thanks for standing up for what you believe in.  Go Gail!  Life is really up and down for me.  I think I’m going crazy!  Yesterday I was feeling pretty positive about JHU.  Today not so much.  Please pray for me.  I know it’s in Gods hands and I should just let go and see what happens.  But it’s hard.  Ok I hope you have a great weekend!

Gail, I think what Greg meant is he feels passionately about this subject too. So much so that if he started typing it would be a lot. I really don’t think he disagreed with you but if you wonder, ask him! : ) But I think you’re both on the same side!

  14. Wow political.  I will be back here to read this tomorrow, but I thought I would simply stop by and say hello and tell you I’m glad you enjoyed "Reign over Me."
After watching the review given by Ebert and Roper I was a little concerned others might not like it as well as I did.  I did post an entry on my other blog, but ill eventually get there if you get the time.
    Until tomorrow.Billy
PS I often want to write about political things, but I try to stay away from them most of the time.  However, if you go through some of my entries you will see a couple of highly charged ones.  Although, I am probably too liberal for most people.  Maybe that’s why I try not to write too many political things on spaces.
Can’t wait to read your though.

  15. I couldn’t agree more Gail. Thanks for standing up for the rest of us with your blog entry.  My son-in-law is struggling ….not wanting to find work, not wanting to do much.  It’s frustrating, but we’re all trying to be very patient with him.  Take care, and have a great weekend!

  17. Hello Gail,
I have reluctantly decided to put my Space on private for the time being.
Personal family problems and some other concerns have lead to
temporary Defensive measures, as I will not have the time to monitor
    events as they occur.
The Freaks and Natty Pratts have NOT won!!  Their fate will be determined
by the very system they have sought to overthrow. I have only warned of
the possible consequences. Nothing more, nothing less. What is done has
been done. It is ALL in the hands of the Government now.
    I shall return.
    Peace & Blessings.

  18. Hi Miss G,
Just wanted to drop by and say hello:)…I so agree that people should not throw stones when they live in glass houses themselves:) Your Grandbaby is just so cute:)..Kids I love them all:)

  19. Gail, I know the post is focused on hypocrisy; however, I feel there is a very serious issue lying behind the visible hypocrisy.  One thing that is very clearly coming from the media is the promotion of the virtue of Tolerance.  We even find the idea of Tolerance has been infiltrating the thoughts of Christian believers.  Tolerance tells us we must not hurt someone or be offensive in our words or actions and we must accept and love everyone.  This sounds so good and right, yet I believe this will become the primary issue for the persecution of believers in our country.  It’s happening now in the courts, it will move to more extreme measures in the days to come.
You may ask, “Why will this happen?”  At some point a true Christian believer must choose whether they are going to adhere to a “do good, feel good” social gospel or if they are going to believe in the God of the Bible; the God who tells us we have sinned and then provided a way of forgiveness through the path of repentance.  If there was no sin, there would be no need for a Savior.  If there was no sin, there would be no guilt and no need for repentance.
Who has the responsibility for identifying sin in the life of someone?  If it happens to be the Christian believer’s responsibility to say “That is wrong”, then guess what that makes the believer – Intolerant.  And rest assured that the champions of Tolerance will not tolerate Intolerant Christian Believers.
John the Baptist was killed for being Intolerant.  And I believe today’s media is setting the wheels in motion for a slaughter.  This is one time I certainly hope that I am wrong about what I believe is going to happen.

  20. I have to agree g…many times I get used to watching a show or reading a particular author and then they change …some say it is what people want the times we live in or’ true to life’ …what people ,whos life and times ????
The UK  also needs to stand up for respecting everyone and for keeping Christian values instead of letting writers  get a laugh out of putting someone down .
now we both ‘got it off our chest’
praying God blesses your weekend hours with peace

  21. I just enjoyed a few minute looking through your  ‘princess Isabella ‘ pics..she really looks like a princess too 🙂

  22. Hey 🙂
I just noticed your b-day is on the 26th of Dec.  My brother was born on the 27th, and we’ve always celebrated it separate too… its hard being that close to a big holiday.. but you can definatly have a b-day party that isnt borderline post Christmas party too.  🙂
Hope you have a great weekend.

  25. Jesus said that if He were of the world, the world would embrace its own.  And the world embraces their ungodly examples.  It should come as no more a surprise to any of us than it did Jesus when He was walking in the midst of it all.
And the world also seems to know more innately than God’s own people that the people of God are more accountable – especially teachers of the Word of God.  They just are.  James said that not many of us should be masters knowing that masters are held into so much accountability he actually called it condemnation.  That should be enough to make anyone go into ministry with fear and trembling.  But today, it’s just not treated that way.  And we’re seeing the fruit/results.  We need to know and have our senses awakened to the fear of the Lord.

  26. Hi G!  My weekend will be filled with lost of work…….not sure if it will be fun, but at least I will get out on Sunday for church and to see the musical Rent.  It is at the Bass Symphony Hall.
It’s great that you are letting your position be known.  I wish more Americans would take the time to do that, especially the Christians. We have to take a stand for the things we believe in…….maybe if we all did, there would be a change.  Take care and enjoy the weekend.

  27. Unfortunately I haven’t seen the latest SVU, so I don’t really know what has got your dander up, but something definitely did.  I am glad you felt compelled enough to write it down.  Whether I agree or not, it was a good entry.  I will say one thing though, the producers and writers of SVU have often taken on very liberal causes without really showing the conservative or Christian point of view very well.  I consider myself to be a "centerleft" individual, but I do try to keep an open mind and not pigeonhole everybody based on their beliefs.  Especially since mine cannot really easily be defined.
Perhaps you could drop by and let me know what it was that offended you and was hypocritical.
Just curious, what happened to Greg’s comments?
BTW, this is one of the few entries that I read all the comments that everyone had, so keep up the passion.  It definitely suits you.Billy

  28. Wow!  Gail, this was awesome.  Very well said and so right on.  I too am guilty of hypocrisy at times but I pray that my life will reflect the truth that Christ lives in me!
Thanks for checking on me.  I’m fine!  I was away so much longer than necessary….. my bad!
    Enjoy your weekend.

  30. I have always seen hippies and liberals as doing the work that Christians should be doing, but you are right we are all hypocritical at times.  It is almost impossible for us not to be.  And Gays, Illegal Immigrants, liberals are all ruling over Christianity despite their foothold in congress with an unfair advantage.
I find it funny that they allow every other religion and creed to be discussed in public schools except for Christianity, but it should be expected.  After all Jesus did say Christians would be reviled and treated like garbage, so it is merely prophecy coming to pass.
Hun you know me ~chuckles~.  I believe the media about as much as I believe the Christian Right, which is next to nothing.  They both have agendas that have nothing to do with their core missions.  It is sad that the liberals use the media and own it as their tool.
I thought your feelings were well written ~smiles~.  I see your persecution on a daily basis and use to be a persecutor ~chuckles~.
I do have a disdain for Christianity, even though I love Christ ~winks~.  I also understand why people dislike Christians in general, but you are absolutely right when you observe that you guys are getting the poopy end of the stick!  It’s only going to get worse sweetie, so get your P’s and Q’s together and buckle up…it’s going to be a bumpy ride!!!
You know in your heart the time of Christianity is at an end on this planet.  Sure we’ll go to a great place of golden splendor.  But the times before that will be great suffering for Christians.
I don’t understand why you all fight so hard when everything is going as it should ~smiles~…There is no place in Christ’s Kingdom for anger whether self justified or not ~hugs~.

  31. hi Gail
    how are you today?
a very well written piece above…
    I agree…
why doesn’t the world realise how they are so against Christianity
they always say that there should be religious freedom
but on the other hand, they want the freedom to continue to persecute Christianity
    anyway…. have a great week!
    God bless! 😀

  32. Ciao G,
Wow, Very well said….and I agree with you…so so so true.
Thanks for the entry, we should all take care of what we say.
Hope that you are having a great weekend.
    God Bless You G.

  33. Hi Gail,So thrilled to hear from you.  Your piece is so well written and thought provoking.  I am a RC by birth, but my religious beliefs have been sorely tested.   I do still attend mass on a regular basis (as does my family) because I believe "religion" is a valuable tool to help keep us morally and spiritually "in check".   If one attempts to practice the basic tenents of their chosen religion (which are fundamentally the same for most organized religions-save for radical factions that allow for death and destruction in the name of their religion) then what more could one ask?…the operative word being "attempt".   To "attempt" something implies we may not always be successful.  That’s where hypocrisy comes in, and we are all hypocritical at times due to our infallible human nature. So hurray for hypocrisy! I would rather be the one attempting,  than one who doesn’t bother to attempt at all.Hoping for you a fantastic (pollen free) week,Sheila

  34. Wow, Gail. Very passionate and what a firm stance you take.  I coudn’t agree with you more. You convict me in my activity level with the letters and emails and contact I fail to make with my representative and the media. I used to serve on a prolife board and what frustrated my most was the apathy of the people. Now I fear life has gotten in the way and made me a bit apathetic. Just business and general feelings of futility in the fight. This is a great call to examine why and get back on that horse.

  35. I hope that your weekend is bringing the peace you need g.
I sang in the shower this morning ..God is good !

  36. Yeah I greatly dislike religion and dogma…I don’t really hate any relgion, race or creed, but I find some dogmas very hard to swallow.  The words of Christ echo in the Bible for any and all to read under the "red" writing in mine ~chuckles~.  That is all I have to follow, anything else is manmade and inherently corrupt despite its pure beginings.
Aye, kindred spirits are just that ~smiles~ Give my regards to "Himself" and give that cute baby a big grizzly hug!

  37. hey there… nice space…so you were born in brooklyn new york… i was born in a hospital somewhere….LOL
well i’ll be talking to you later, yeah?
    xoxo lozza

  38. hello g,
my GP decided to put me straight on the medication as she said the readings were far too high to wait ,and as I already felt so ill the day of the appointment I let her prescribe them 😦
I have to laugh now, as she told me to stop taking them when my BP dropped so low .I am going to insist that they find out why my readings fluctuate so much and why my pulse is normal when the BP is so high .Thankfully I feel much better today, this last week has been like a bad dream ..things can only get better now !
I hope that you had a restful weekend and are refreshed & ready for your days with the little princess Isabella 🙂
    love and blessings

  39. Hi Gail – I just wanted to wish you a happy Monday!  Your comment made me smile – I would gladly trade, ahem, sizes if I could!!  I’ll be back later this week to drop by!
    Take care,
