Seedlings

Ed White became the first American astronaut to walk in space
on this day in 1965. Scientists and engineers believed that
man could walk in space and in doing so the seed was planted
and space walks came into the human experience.

What is a seed thought you can plant today that will come into
this human experience and make the world a happier place and
make you happy too? All things start with a thought. If there
is something you’ve always wanted to do but now you think it’s
too late, think again! Your brat has probably been trying to
tell you she’s holding the seed and she’s just waiting for you
to plant it.

This was my daily message from the brat factor.   What dream has been in your thoughts waiting to become a reality?  I am trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.  A few ideas have come to mind.  After several "careers," maybe I will have an avocation rather than a vocation; something I enjoy rather than a "job."

What is your avocation?  Are you living it?  Have a blessed week, g

  2. Hi G,
I want to live life to the fullest everyday , but know that is not possible but I can try. and when things get bad and when things get good I want to always remember to give it back to God . Thats where it comes from and always give thanks.

  3. Well you know my dream.  I hope to be living it very soon!  I am mailing the official transcript tomorrow via certified return receipt mail.  I figure they should get it by Friday.  And in my opinion, they should give me an answer Friday.  I"ve waited long enough!  So we will see.  At least by early next week.  Hope you are having a great week so far.

  4. I have always loved helping people, which is why I became a social worker.  I really felt used when I was helping the poor and hurting.  I miss that part of my old job.  My new job of being mommy is sure a full time position with lots of rewards though!  And I am definitely helping one little girl to be the best she can be!

    Take care,
    Amy

  5. I firmly believe a vocation should be something you enjoy not something that you doing strictly for money.  Being happy is the most important thing and sometimes it will confuse wealth with happiness.  It is much easier to be happy when you have significant amounts of cash lying about, but if fame and wealth were all there were to being happy, would there be so many rich people going to rehab?
I know I used to be one of those angry sergeants that would really complain about the clock watchers.  I used to have to pick up their slack, but one day I realized they were going home to be with their families and had put that as one of their highest priorities.  It was then that my anger about their slacking turned into envy.

I just want to find something that I can become obsessed about once again.

  6. Thank you for your writing which lets me remember the important day that the american astronaut first landed on the Moon.it’s reaiiy an important event in the human history.

  7. Today, while floating in the pool, I told The Princess that I have the best job in the world – being her Mammie. And she replied that my job was making her laugh.
So for now, I have the best of both worlds.

I’ll check out that site when it’s not past my bedtime~

  8. I too must give some thought to what I want to be when I grow out (at my age, it’s much more likely I’ll grow out instead of up).
There are times lately that I’ve thought of walking away from my day job and doing something really different.  Then The Queen informs me that we have kids in college and bills.
    I’m wondering though, just thinking.
    Have a blessed day.

"When satan reminds you of your past, remind him of his future."

Thats an excellent saying my dear friend! Thanks for sharing it!

Wow! That one I’m going to write down and carry it around with me all the time!
I stopped by your mom’s space to get her stuffing recipe, (sans raisins, though) hope all is well with her.
Hope all is well with you and DS and DD, just to let you know I’m thinking of you.

  11. I forgot to tell you…I scored about 50/50. Depending upon before knee injury or after. So my brat’s name is Knee Milage Hubs.
Because it takes me so long to do anything when I have to hobble, and I live so far from my Princess duties and my Hubbies slovliness/Overtime situation…it’s going to take some cooperation to get my brat under control.
I’m only a packrat about craft supplies and I only collect 2 items. I’m not overdrawn, behind on bills or losing important papers. I do dishes every day, launder, fold, and put away the clothes most every day. But I’m exhausted, I have to stop before my knee pops and I can’t run the vac because of my allergies. I spend a couple of days at the doctor’s with Chelle and  Lola sheds more than 8 bears after hibernation.
Hubby’s working about 13 hours a day trying to get a new substation up and running, so I think I just need help, but I would HAVE to clean up before they got here. My daughter’s working 9 1/2 hours a day and taking 2 online clases. And yes, I’m a perfectionist.
    What a mess.
But thanks for helping me realize it’s not all my fault!

  12. Hello Gail,

A very interesting blog indeed. Some day I’ll figure out what I want to be when (IF) I ever fully grow-up:) Maybe I have found my avocation and just don’t know it – that’s a scary thought. As do most people I do have an inner brat. His name is Ricky. In tenth grade Ricky was sent to the principal’s office 36 times while ending the school year 4 weeks short due to military transfer. He has changed over the years to where he only plays harmless pranks on people.

Thank you for the kind words about my wife and I. I’m glad you enjoyed the "Family Photo" album. My hair is now much shorter than it was in the last pictures of me but not as short as my Senior Year picture. Here is why my hair is shorter http://www.charityguide.org/volunteer/fifteen/locks-of-love.htm . I’ll just have to keep feeding and watering the crop until it gets tall enough and a lucky child will be walking in tall cotton with a new wig. I would love to see their faces when they get it but yet remain an unknown in the whole thing.

    Have a great week.

    Peace, Love, & Blessings.

  14. I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I do think I’ve been able to find contentment & adventure wherever life has led me, so I feel I’ve been a success.
Threading? OUCH!!! You are a brave soul- I’ll stick with bleaching 😛

  15. First off, I love the ‘brat factor’…it is totally me.  Dang it.  I’ve been working on it, tho.  Trying to let her do a little fun stuff in between the cleaning.   As for the other, Kiki thinks it is totally strange that I still don’t know what I want to do when I "grow up", because she already does.  Well, I knew what I wanted to do then; but life changed and I didn’t get to….no, I haven’t found a new one, yet…

  16. Well it’s taken a LONG time but I finally know what I want to do. LOL So I’m going for it!

How have you been, my friend? I hope all is going well with you.

  17. Well, you just read about my vocation of choice…

Before the gospel came and grabbed hold of me, my vocation of choice was becoming a wife a mom.  Since that didn’t materialize in my 20’s and 30’s, while the desire has still remained, the actual decision as to whether or not I actually want to go there now at this stage of my life has not yet been made.  A wife and mom is all I wanted to be from the time I was a little girl.  My backup plan if that didn’t work out was to become a rock star, lol.  I’m glad the backup plan didn’t work out!

Thanks for coming by, g.  I haven’t been getting around much in recent weeks.  I don’t know why.  Even so, I do appreciate your faithfulness and your friendship very much!

    Love you!!!
    Carol 🙂

  18. My brat better give me that seed…Seriously though I guess that would take some thought.  I think I’ll do just that laying by the pool this weekend.  I sure do need the relaxation.
I hope all is well – have a great weekend.
    Deb

  26. Hey 🙂
I know I have not found my career right now.. or have done so in the past.  I do know what I would like to do though.  One day whether it be in the public school system or in a preschool.. I would like to be a teacher.  🙂  When that day comes, I’ll be happier then anything.  What a great post idea. 🙂
Hope youre having a great week 😀

  27. Hello Gail, how are you? I hope you are doing very well, out and about living life. Have a great week ahead. -S-

  28. Hi Darling ~

I aspire to make a living writing children’s books and doing the artwork. I’m so far away from that dream it’s funny… laughable even.

    Love you,

    Lori
