I worked in the coffee shop and dietary department of a local hospital. Age fifteen and mom insisted I start working. Gained about ten pound, too!

Either my friend Robin’s house or my friend MaryAnn’s house. I have little original creativity beyond writing and they have taught me alot.

Random acts of kindness. My parents were always helping strangers even when it was an inconvenience.

Hot pants. Otherwise known as short shorts. They could be classy or crude and looked "great" with boots!
CB radios. Had to come up with a creative handle (like a screen name). Trying to remember mine. Hmmm…Gillis was usually what I would use but most people couldn’t understand what I was saying.
Platform shoes/boots. Can you say broken ankles? Nasty.

What’s a "real" job?
The Northwest Arkansas hills…the woods, the trees, the rivers, the lakes. Even the ponds!
I’m embarrassed and crushed by the same thing you are
You don’t need to say much when you’ve got a gun in your hands.
I suppose I should explain that one. My dad was a man of few words – especially when people would pull up into the driveway intoxicted or just generally up to no good. In our little rural area, my dad had made what he was about very clear from the get-go, and ours was the only farm in the area that didn’t get robbed when I was growing up.
That’s not all they taught me. It’s just the first thing that came to mind is all.
Izod shirts and Calvin Klein jeans. Preppies were everywhere. I had graduate high school and leave smalltown USA to see what fashion was really all about (and it would probably surprise the world that knows me now to know what a high-fashion gal I was "back in the day"). Oddly enough, I never had an Izod shirt or a pair of Calvin Klein jeans in high school. But I did have a sweet pair of high-heeled Capezio cowgirl boots (real stacked leather heel). I waited a whole year to get them and drooled over them every time Mom and I would walk by them. Then a month after I got them my foot outgrew them. Broke my heart!

I worked in a ladies clothing store at our one and only mall. That is where I met Mrs Skrumshz’s mom!

A honest day’s pay for an honest day’s work. It does not matter what your job is, you should give it your all and that means all the time!

Knickers with socks that came up over the knee (difficult to find when you are almost 6’ tall)
Layering 2 shirts one on top of the other – much like is done know with spaghetti strap tops only this was man style long sleeve shirts

My handle was Red Man.Loved to wear flip-flops (what I called slippers) most of the time. I really hated to feel confined in normal shoes, but after I joined the army I hardly ever wore flip-flops again.I hope everything continues to go well.Billy
LOL! I was a teenager from the 80’s so I wore all kinds of wild stuff. I remember how much I LOOOOVED my parachute pants. LOL

I worked in the newspaper office of my hometown one evening a week. I think I started when I was 16. The paper only came out on Thursdays so I worked on Wednesday evenings.

Down by the river on my bicycle on the trail. A lot of papers have been composed and problems resolved when I go there.

Wow, that’s a lot to remember… here goes.
1st job: selling burgers under the golden arches – I only lasted 4 months because I am a rotten person when I don’t get 8 hours of sleep (I didn’t get home until 12)
I go to Jo*Ann or Home*Depot to spark my creativity.
I am embarassed when what I say is not what I mean – foot in mouth disease.
My parents always insisted we be nice and clean up after ourselves. There was the other obvious stuff but those are the things I remember being closely watched.
Three fads… 8-track tapes, smock tops (ugh), earth shoes.

Yes, I still think the best book by Frank was, “This Present Darkness.” His writings can give people a good insight to the spiritual realm and the power God has given to us by just praying and speaking God’s Word over ourselves and standing in the gap of faith for others.

Gail – I loved your teen fad items – hot pants and platform shoes – that would be interesting! I tend to think of trends in the fashion category and I recall leg warmers and wrap pants/skirts. Honorable mention should be noted for spiral perms.

I’m so glad your FIL is doing well.
You know I bet not alot of people think of how many people the housing market really affects, not only just all the forclosures, but realtors and their family as well. Please be assured you will be in my prayers.
I was going to the library for a bit, but it is very out of the way for me as it is in downtown which is full of one way streets and tons of traffic. Add to the fact that I never get there in time to take out one of the best sellers or new book from a favorite author and end up on a forever waiting list – and I found myself trading with friends or buying the book I wanted. Good news though — I just heard about a new used book store opening so that’s perfect for me as I have tons of books to trade.
