Building an Ark

Another very wet day in the Great Atlantic Northeast.  Already we are seeing the puddles growing to flood potential in the low lying areas.  I am so happy we have a sump pump.  The rest of the weekend promises to be sinus blowingly warm (47F).  Ugh.

You have no clue how difficult it is for me not to start spouting off political comments.Don't tell anyone  I made it a point when I first started this blog I would not get political.  It makes it easier to get along.  However…Secret telling…never mind.Disappointed

What’s up this weekend?  Superbowl party?  Rest?  Travel?  We’ll be with our bcf (best couple friends) for the Superbowl.  You know.  That couple you both get along with very well and can call at the last minute to make plans?  The one’s you can call from three hours away in the middle of the night and they will come and get you?  That’s G&P.  I’m so thankful for them.

Without further ado, bring on the hotwings:

What is your favorite kind of cereal?  In a world where calories, fat and carbs don’t count, it is an oat cereal, I can’t remember the name, that was round like a donut with a hole in the middle and tasted just like an oatmeal cookie.  No milk needed.  Yummmm…..

When was the last time you purchased something for your home, what was it, and in which room did it go?  Groceries, in the kitchen.  Honestly?  I can’t remember.  Maybe it was dish towels.  I am a big FreeCycle fan and the last few things I have needed for the house have been supplied by other members (including the office chair I am sitting on).

What is the funniest commercial you’ve ever seen?  There are so many but I will always remember the old Alka-Seltzer ads "no matter what shape your stomach’s in" and "I can’t believe I ate the whole thing" (the original one, not the remade one).

Main Course
Make up a name for a company by using a spice and an animal (example: Cinnamon Monkey).  Tarragon Tiger

Fill in the blank: I haven’t __eaten ice cream____ since __September____.

  2. It rained a little bit here today and whenever it’s below 70° and a little damp, I feel cold.  It’s even worse when it’s in the 40s, but thankfully I don’t have to put up with that hardly ever here.
I also have to reframe myself from talking about politics and occasionally I do put a blog on my site about something I believe in, but I’m probably in the minority with some of my beliefs.  At least around here.
I am, however, pretty optimistic that with the three candidates it looks like are going to be running for the most important office.  I may like one over the other, but I figure we’re definitely not going to be too badly off.  How’s that for being vague?Take care and enjoy the Super Bowl weekend.  I’m having pizza tomorrow, but not really doing anything for the Super Bowl.Billy Paul
PS if you want to erase my comments because they might be a little too political, I understand completely.

  3. Well, I hope you have a great time with your friends on Sunday!  We will be visiting our oldest son at the pokey….I should be more serious about that!
    Appetizer:  Favorite cereal – Ohs

  7. Not only do I not blame you for choosing to refrain from joining the political jabber, I owe you a debt of gratitude for reminding me to throttle my anger and keep my distance from that topic on this friendship place.
Favorite cereal is Total with raisins….like to eat it with French vanilla yogurt.
Last purchase for the home was raspberry filled doughnuts for Patty.
The commercials that make me laugh are any that offer a "magic" diet pill or perhaps the John Basedow six pack abs "simple plan."
    Donkey dark chocolate bites.
Oh yeah, I watch the Super bowl only when the commercials are on.

  8. Watching the super bowl right now………….thought I would leave a brief comment and thanks you for your kind words about losing Prissee.  Been a long week…..miss her :(…….OK…back to the super bowl……I watch the commercials too…. so far John has picked his favorite one and so have I…….second half is just started…….have a great week………Patty 🙂

  9. Hello Gail,
One more football game this season – "The Pro-Bowl" – tomorrow. But then business really starts the next week with "THE DAYTONA 500." I did watch the last 10 seconds of the ‘Superbowl’ – I was rooting for a Lubbock resident – a member (linebacker – no name due to privacy respect) of the 1972 Dolphins so that their record would stay intact. If the Patriots had won, there would still have had to have been an asterisk beside their ‘record.’ The 72 Dolphins went from game 5 through the end of the season with a BACK-UP quarterback. Bob Greise broke his leg in game 5 of the season and Earl Morrall filled in admirably.
No political comments form me on other people’s blog sites – just my own:)
    Have a Happy Valentines Day.
    Peace & blessings.
