"The real measure of your wealth is how much you’d be worth
if you lost all your money." author unknown
When I read that in my Brat Factor Surprise this morning I knew I had to share it.  How very true it is!  How many "money rich" people know who their true friends are?  A couple who won a mega lottery ($270 million) was on a morning show today.  Their phone has been ringing off the hook with long lost friends and relatives.  Where were they hiding all this time?

I can’t imagine living life without knowing who my true friends are.  As I don’t see myself coming into a financial fortune any time soon I suppose I won’t have to worry about it!  My blessings are many and my friends are true.  There is little more I can ask for.

There’s an old saying that goes something like this:"Tell God your plans and He laughs."  Well, I have learned that all too well.  Last week was a series of "God laughs."  I wonder what this week will bring.

I’m not into the Manic Monday questions this week so I will make up my own:

Your six-year old niece wants you to have a tea party with her.  Are you too old to join her?  Nope.  If I wasn’t too tired, I’d probably see if she wanted to bake cookies first.  Once we were having the tea, I would probably tire of it very fast, though.  When we were kids, my sister and I would dress in our t-shirts to have a tea party!

What is your favorite movie of all time?  Why?  It’s hard to pick out one but I would have to say The Hunt for Red October.  It has twists and turns, action and requires you to think a bit.  Besides, Sean Connery is still a babe in it!  (Yes, I know he is a chauvinist but I don’t care for some reason.)

Your daugher and her husband are having a baby!  They want to name him or her Jeter, boy or girl, for their favorite baseball player.  You do what?  LOL!  Sorry M!  My niece and her S/O were considering this name for a son.  Blessedly, they chose Kai.  I believe it would be very difficult to keep my mouth shut but would try very hard to.  When I had The Girl, I was given alot of flack for giving her an unusual name.  Now it is commonplace.

What’s up with you this week?  Hope you stay safe and enjoy, gail

  2. hi G, how’s the week been? As for tea party? ummmm…sometimes we have it, but I usually invite an older girl over, coz my little ones like to play with older children. 🙂 Favourite movie? none. And as for Jeter, never heard anyone with that name here. How is it pronounced? Jeter as in Jet-ter, or as in Peter?

  3. I wanted to name my son Bronko after the great football player. I found out the wife had veto powers when it came to naming kids! Best wishes and much love from Alabama. Mitch

  4. Hi Gail.  If my kids wanted to name their baby Jeter I’d try to get them to at least to change it Derick.
I like your favorite movie.. haven’t seen it in awhile but I love Sean Connery.
    Have a blessed week!

  6. Hi Gail,
So Glad i dont have that much money .It would be Hell.
Im pain free totally today for the first time in Weeks.
Im feeling so good and hope it stays.
    Thanks for stopping.
    Love always.

  7. Since I don’t have to worry about a tea party with a niece, I’ll answer the movie inquiry. Not counting The Ten Commandments, I’d probably have to say Nell with Jodie Foster. The primary reason was the living in harmony with nature without craving the temptations of a material world.  Nell led a life as close to sinless as I can imagine any person could.  Liked Cold Mountain very much too.

  8. Kiki likes me to ‘play’ with her…some days I love it, some days not so much!  But I feel like it’s important time, so I do it.     As far as the quote goes, I may know sooner rather than later the "true measure" of my wealth….yikes.

  9. Just wanted to stop by and say hello.  I have often thought about how you started this particular entry and while many of my friends no longer reside near me, I know that I have lifelong ones nonetheless.  They are tried and tested.  They went through the ultimate test with me and came through in shining colors.
Favorite movie?  Don’t know if I could name just one, but if I were to list the one I have seen the most times it would be: Secret of My Success.
I know, it’s a silly movie, but it always made me feel better.  It was also one of the very few I had on videotape when I lived in Germany for all of those years.  I often watched it as I shined my boots in the morning.  Memories.Take care,BP

  10. You know, Red October is one of my favorites too- cracks my husband up 😛
Jeter not too bad- my BIL was thinking of Xaviar for their last one (this is a family of German/Scandinavian heritage !)
Now, you know I always have time for a tea party & often have one all by myself 🙂

  11. I saw that couple on the morning shows.  I wondered why they were so NOT happy looking.
…very hard to keep your mouth shut?  Where do YOU live?  Kidding.  REALLY, G.  Just kidding.  :o)

  12. Hi Gail, Thanks for visiting! 🙂  I am pleased to see a very ordinary couple win the money…but I love it how suddenly, everyone now knows your ph# and the time to call! (lol)
    Have a great weekend,

  13. Gail, thank you for ever thinking of my son and your prayers.  Your son is on my mind as well since similar paths have been trod.

  14. Your six-year old niece wants you to have a tea party with her. Are you too old to join her? absolutely not – I would be delighted to join her
What is your favorite movie of all time? Why? Mask (with Cher). It is based on a true story and is a wonderful story that always makes me cry like a baby
Your daugher and her husband are having a baby! They want to name him or her Jeter, boy or girl, for their favorite baseball player. You do what? I spent my whole life with lots of people around with the same first name as mine. Point of fact, in my home town of 25,000 people there were SIX of us with the exact same name, first and last. I would say go for it, after reminding them if they ever want to get stuff with the kid’s name on it, they’ll have to have it special made.
