Better Late Than Never?

I started this entry this morning and The Boy didn’t save it when I went out.  sigh  A long day indeed but a good one.

The Boy will not graduate with his class.  He will have to take one summer school course to get his high school diploma.  This is not really a surprise but it is still a bit of a heart break.  sigh

Tomorrow, I have announced, is my down day.  Sleeping, reading and catching up on dvr recordings.  If I don’t do this the fms will do me in so that I have to crash.  Preventive medicine, so to speak.

Let’s feast

Appetizer

If you could live on another continent for 1 year, which one would you choose?  The key word here is could.  I don’t wish to live anywhere else.  When I graduated from college, I wanted to travel but it didn’t happen.  I even looked into employment in England and Canada.  So, if I had to choose, I would choose Europe, the British Isles in particular.  (I did get to visit England and loved it.)

Soup

Which browser do you use to surf the Internet?  IE until we get a new pc.  Then we will probably use Mozilla (Reminds me of mozarella!  Have I mention that my ethnic background includes 50% Italian?).

Salad

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you know about the history of your country? Embarrassed  I couldn’t even rate my knowledge in this area.  This is a verrrry big country.

Main Course

Finish this sentence:  Love is…a many splendored thing…never havng to say you’re sorry?  What a bunch of bologna.  Love is…(click here)

Dessert

Have you ever been in or near a tornado?  About twelve miles from one.  It was very strange to have one in this part of the USofA.  Friends of mine were getting a new roof and had only a tarp protecting their house.  The tornado passed through and the water damage was extensive.  So many people from church showed up to help.  It was a terrible experience but it brought people together.

Here’s extra blessings to you and yours for the coming weekend.  g

  1. Hi. Gail
                    For your appetizer why not choose the land of song. If you thought England was good (I’m English) you would adore Wales.I’ve lived here for 30 years.
    Have a great weekend.
                                                    xx…Graham…xx

  2. Enjoy your down day. You deserve it. Let’s feast:
    Another continent – Europe, but a year wouldn’t be long enough. I just don’t have the money to afford to.
    Internet browser – Internet Explorer
    History of my country – 6, Hubby would be an 8 – he’s the history buff in the family but knows that he doesn’t know all there is.
    Love is… patient, love is kind. Before I clicked on the link, that’s what popped into my head.
    In/near a tornado – No, thank goodness. Although I’ve lost friends to a tornado.  Scary.

  3. Hi Gail, I am sorry but it is too late for me to feast. One of these days I will come back and feast . It is 12:48 and I need some shut eye. I just wanted to come by and say hello and have a little visit.  Have a nice weekend and and enjoy your down time. Good night and God Bless. 🙂 Dianne

  4. I’m sorry The Boy will not get to graduate with his class.

    If you could live on another continent for 1 year, which one would you choose?  Europe, although Asia is a close runner up.
    Which browser do you use to surf the Internet?  There’s something other than IE?
    On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you know about the history of your country?  I rarely read novels, but have read history since my early teens; therefore, would likely be an 8 or 9 compared to non-history majors.
    Finish this sentence:  Love is…a many splendored thing…never havng to say you’re sorry?  What a bunch of bologna.  Love is leaving the last piece of cheesecake for my wife.
    Have you ever been in or near a tornado?  Have been near two tornados, in two tornados and actually under one that was forming.  We watched the tail forming directly overhead.  It touched down about two miles past us and destroyed a long string of electrical transmission highlines.

  5. Hot and dry here.  We had a terrible drought in ’07’ and all indicators point to another in ’08’.  BTW, Patty and myself are doing fine…thanks for asking because I know you really care.  Now for the feast…
    * Although not another continent, I’ve always wanted to live in remote Alaska.
    * IE 7 for now.
    * Give myself a strong 8 on our history.
    * Love is Jesus Christ.
    * Been close enough to a tornado to see it coming my way.  Yep, did a U-turn in the road and petal to the metal in the opposite direction!!  Now lightning is another story all it’s own….lets just say I was close enough for pieces of the tree it struck to cause some minor abrasions on exposed skin.  If there are any storm chasers reading this comment, I’d like to inform them that tornadoes and lightning don’t want to be their friend.  Geeez, Mother Nature does not mess around when she gives us a hint!!  I’m one country boy that learned these lessons with the first lesson…grin.  Oh yeah, did himself ever find a suitable hat last year…lol.
