This week is practically over!  To give you an idea of what this week was like:
Monday – Up at 4:30 AM.  Himself and I brought a friend for surgery and stayed at the hospital until she was brought up to her room.
Tuesday – Up at 6:30  AM.  The Girl brought Isabella extra early.
Wednesday – Early morning to spend time with a bedridden friend.  A group of us from church made up a schedule of visitation to give her caretaker daughter a break.  I am so blessed by these visits.  The time goes so quickly and I am sorry to leave.  I had to walk there as The Boy needed my car to get to summer school.  It was a good thing, though.  I’ve really needed to start exercising.
Thursday – Early morning to bring The Boy to register for college – Yea!  That was so exciting!
Friday – Isabella here early again.
For those of you who have been around this neighborhood for a while, you know how I don’t do mornings all that well.  I am a night owl.  However, God’s grace was sufficient for me and I am doing much better than would be expected.
Himself is on vacation next week.  One thing I know is that we will go blueberry picking with my folks on Wednesday.  I have been looking forward to this for a long time.  We have been invited to our bcfs’ beach condo, also, but I really don’t think it is a good idea to leave The Boy alone over night.   Temptation, ya’ know?
Enough trivialities.  I know ya’ll come here for the feasts.  Just a reminder, I usually don’t make up these questions.  They are courtesy of fridaysfeast.com.  Sometimes, if I don’t care for a question, I will change it.

What is the weather like today where you live?  Another HHH, hazy, hot and humid.  Heat index is supposed to be up to 100 F.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how career-minded are you?  This is a tough one.  At this time, I am home full-time and I love it.  However, I have had dreams of pursuing an advanced degree and entering a different field than I was previously in.  Then again, I love what I do, i.e. helping with doctors’ appointments, visiting the sick, taking care of Bells on a part time basis.  I suppose I already have a career which I would give a 10+.

What type of window coverings do you have in your home? Blinds, curtains, shutters, etc.?  Blinds, curtains and window scarves.  What would I prefer?  Beautiful draperies in exo*tic tones!

Main Course

Name something that instantly cheers you up.  Aw, you already know that answer.  Bells!Open-mouthed

How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning?  I don’t usually use an alarm clock.  However, when I did, I woke up to music and didn’t hit the snooze.  Just drifted in and out of music.

What are you up to this weekend?  I don’t think we have any plans.  Hopefully, sleeping in and maybe straightening up a bit.  Whatever you do, be blessed.  g

  1. Always doing for others… What a blessing you are to those around you G… thought I’d stop in and let you know I’m still alive and hanging in there… Just trying to rely on God and get through it…

  2. Has said Boy declared a major (or even indicated a possible direction)?  How’s the shoulder?

What is the weather like today where you live?  Bright sun and mid 90’s.
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how career-minded are you?  2.5 in current job, but I’m expecting (and getting into position) to do something very different within the next few years.
What type of window coverings do you have in your home? Blinds & curtains
Name something that instantly cheers you up.  Time with Queen Kay!
How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning?  Never.  Only problem I occasionally have is forgetting to turn off the alarm when I get up before it goes off.  I normally remember when I’m in the shower (much to Queen Kay’s distress!)
What are you up to this weekend? Revival at church.  Speaker is from Brazil.

  3. this weekend…well hopefully i am going ot have this baby…lol…♥~♥ :oD the shortest distance between two people is a smile… :oD ♥~♥

  4. Plans for the weekend are painting the guest bedroom…oh!!..the joys of painting..gasp!*  Weather here is hot, humid, and the weeds and bugs are thriving. Just plain sticky.
    *  Guess I would rate myself a 10 on the career scale.  Lots of thought and gut checking when I made my choice.  No regrets.
    *  Combination of curtains and blinds.  Couple of shutters in the kitchen widows.  Personally, I would love to have huge widows in the sitting areas…the kind you can see out but not see in.  Too expensive, and Patty would never go for it.
    *  My faith is the biggest boost to cheerfulness, but other than stating the obvious, I would have to say quiet walks in the deep forests of eastern Tennessee with nothing but time and no particular path to follow.
    *  Have not used a alarm clock in years.  Wake up every morning around 4 am.  During my working days, I just turned the telephone up way loud.  Being on call 24/7 made that a necessity.
Have a wonderful weekend Gail.  Sitting with a sick friend is indeed a blessing to those of us who have done so.  Going the extra mile is soul cleansing for sure.  Good to know you are sticking to the exercise routine.  Three cheers for G…rah, rah, rah!!!

  5. I’m feeling like quite the slug-a-bed after looking over your schedule.  I don’t think I was off the mattress before 7:30 any day this week.
Appetizer – High of 96, dry, looks like a bit of a breeze
Soup – Hmm, 7ish, I think.  I don’t have aspirations of clawing up the corporate ladder, just staying interested until I can reach retirement age – 55!
Salad – Drapes, curtains, stained glass and blinds.
    Main course – PepperAnn
Dessert – I would just let it play and fade in and out, listening to the music, but the guy next to me makes me hit the doze… like 4 or 5 times!
I think I’m getting better at this – I used to have such a hard time making choices.
    Happy Friday, G!

  6. I had to get up at 6am all week for VBS… I am soooo not a morning person.  Yet, I am still alive, lol.  My ‘dream window coverings’ are sheer, billowing curtains, floor to ceiling over large windows (preferably looking out onto the ocean somewhere) lazing blowing in from the gentle sea breeze…. ahhhhhhh……

  7. I have not been a morning person since I was injured.  It’s amazing that I used to wake up before work anywhere between 2:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on a daily basis.  Now I think it’s early if I have to get started by 7 a.m.
Thanks so much for your insight on the show that I requested you watch.  I too felt there were some shortcomings, but I really think if they delved too much into it they would have lost even more viewers.  I was shocked yesterday when I went to a meeting at my local spinal cord clinic and discovered that none of the people there had seen or heard of the show.
Take care and I hope you have an outstanding weekend.Billy Paul

  8. Good morning Gail —
Beach condo — ummm, what I wouldn’t give to have a friend who would offer even one night at their beach condo.
    Ok – here goes…..

What is the weather like today where you live?  Same weather as yours, Hot, Heavey and Humid.  Our only air conditioner is that big round thing full of water that sits in our yard.  So after chores and all, that’s where you’ll probably find me this weekend.
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how career-minded are you?   At my present job, it’s probably a 3.  I love the people I work with, but all my life, all I’ve ever enjoyed is working with and helping people.  Unfortunately my financial circumstances prevent any kid of change at the moment.
What type of window coverings do you have in your home? Blinds, curtains, shutters, etc.?  Same here, blinds and curtains.  Would love to get rid of the blinds, but we live on a corner house and need them for privacy.  Many of our neighbors love to take walks and our neighborhood is perfect for it.  Not many cars.

Name something that instantly cheers you up.  LOL – yes I hear you.  Eric does the some for me.  Can’t help but smile and laugh when he’s around.
How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning?  If I’m not up before it, about 3 or 4 times.  I’m just the opposite of you, I’m a morning person.  (ha, right now it’s 4:38 a.m.)
What are you up to this weekend?  Shopping (in air conditioned stores), and swimming in our air conditioner..lol!
You have a geat weekend!  I’ve got to update my blog, but lately have been in a bit of a rut, so I can’t come up with anything.
