Obedience No Matter What

I’m weary of finding f words to title the falderal so I am taking a breather from thinking too hard!
It is so hard, sometimes, to obey God’s word.  It says to honor our authorities because He put them there.  Reading some other blogs, I see a lot of anger towards our current administration over the horrible events at Fort Hood this past week.  Some say we are less safe than we were before 9/11.
To say that the average American knows what is really going on in our country is to live in a dream world.  We don’t know and, truth be told, don’t want or need to know all that happens to keep us safe.  We do, though, need to know that our brave men and women who serve our country can have a reasonable expectation of safety on a military post!
If a military person speaks out against the military do they still belong there?  Is there any room for insurrection within the ranks?  Amongst civilians, yes.  Amongst the military?  No.  There needs to be obedience unless an order goes against the good.
As much as I want to rail against the administration and all I disagree with, it is my duty to pray for them, for the military and for my country.  I must trust that God has a plan for my life and part of it is to live here in the United States.
I am not convinced that my beloved country will ever be God fearing again.  As a matter of fact, I see it going progressively downhill.  I hope and pray that I am wrong.  Whatever happens, though, will not be a surpise to God.
Let us stand firm no matter what is tossed our way.
Given the opportunity, would you rather live in a country other than the one you live in now?  No.  I have thought about it but can’t think of one my family and I would be better off in.
Are you frustrated with your government?  Very much so.  No matter how often I contact my representative and senators  I get the same thanks but no thanks response.
Do you think you would consider running for office?  I don’t see it in my future but I don’t pretend to know the future.
Do you have a favorite song right now?  I am very fond of Revelation Song by     Phillips, Craig and Dean.  It is so touching and true.
How is your life lately?  Really good.  I am so blessed and I choose to count my blessing rather than wallow in pity over what could be.
Himself and I celebrated 22 years of marriage this past week.   We enjoyed a meal of sushi at one of our favorite restaurants and are glad for what God has blessed us with.
Our Isabella is coming into overt consciousness of this world a bit more lately.  She is responding to our questions with appropriate and correct answers.  It is soooo exciting!
Bless you this week and always, g

  1. Hi Gail, First of all Congrats’s to you and hubby on your 22 Aniversary. That is quite an accomplishment in this day and age.:)That is good news concerning Isabella. 🙂 There is no other Country I would want to live in besides my own , other than Heaven itself and no , nothing nor does any country on earth compare to our future home with our Lord and Savior , Jesus Christ, who is a stumbling block to this wordly system . We are living in the last days and this world continues to change and not necessarily for the best. God is in control and our leaders can go ahead and make plans but God has the final say and is always in control.I would not want to live in this world without God in my life. Sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better and we have a Glorious Hope and Future in Jesus. This world is not my home , I am only passing through. God Bless You GailYour sister in Christ Jesus.Dianne 🙂

  2. Wanted to come by and say thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I agree with you that we need to pray for our leadership but have to admit that it is a struggle at times when I feel so helpless, like you, calling our reps and voting does not seem like enough action…the only thing left is prayer….so my prayers usually consist of "not my will but yours oh, Lord!!" I am glad you brought up the question,"is there any other country you would rather live?" That does bring some things back into perspective…and no there is none other I would rather live..I don’t normally use Spaces for my political opinion, it distracts from my real purpose for blogging…glorifying the Lord by sharing my walk with Him…it has been therapeutic for me in so many ways for so many reasons…but this event just rocked me to the core with anger…I hope it was righteous anger…and may not have clearly explained myself but it is what it is…I ditto what Dianne said…this is not my home and just passing through…as Paul says he longed for the day he was with His Lord there was still work for Him to do…Grace to youshellHappy Anniversary!!!

  3. I think it can be very hard to be supportive of a president and administration that you see making a lot of mistakes and not holding strong to any of the values that you, well, value. However, the Bible does make it clear that we are to pray for them and support them as God does put who He wants to into authority. I honestly believe this is what our country asked for and now we have it. I’m hoping that will change in three years, but, I, like you, am not at all convinced that our country will ever be a Christian nation again. Mostly I am sorry for my children for this.Given the opportunity, would you rather live in a country other than the one you live in now? I do, but mostly because I would like to be a missionary in an African country. Maybe someday… Are you frustrated with your government? Oh yeah. Do you think you would consider running for office? I don’t care about politics enough. And, I am easily intimidated so politics is definitely not for me. Do you have a favorite song right now? I do, loving the David Crowder Band, How He Loves Us. Lilla and I like to sing it together. Lovely!Life lately? Stressful. I’m tired, Lilla’s sick, it’s work I tell ya. But still, I have to be thankful. God has given us so much, His love is unceasing. Amazing love.Happy Anniversary to you and the Mr.!
